Guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting for all things Noods.
Getting Started
New to Noods? Here's everything you need to start building your cookbook.
01Creating Your Account
Head to the sign up page and enter your email address. We'll send you a magic link — click it and you're in. No passwords to remember.
You can also sign in with Google, X, or Microsoft. Once you're in, you can add a passkey from your account settings for even faster logins using your device's biometrics.
02Importing a Recipe from a Website
Found a recipe you love on the web? Copy the URL, open your cookbook, and tap the button. Select the tab, paste the URL and hit Import. Noods will automatically extract the recipe title, ingredients, and instructions.
Note that some websites (like social media platforms) block automated access, so those won't work. Most dedicated recipe sites should import fine. If something looks off after import, you can edit the recipe to fix it up.
03Importing a Recipe from a Photo
Got a recipe on paper or as a screenshot? Open your cookbook and tap the button, then select the tab. You can add up to 5 images and Noods will read the photos and create the recipe for you. If something looks off after import, you can edit the recipe to fix it up.
04Creating a Recipe from Scratch
From your cookbook, tap the button, then tap to open the recipe editor. Add a title, ingredients, and instructions, plus optional fields like prep time, cook time, servings, notes, and a reference link back to the original source.
05Scaling Ingredients
When viewing a recipe, use the serving adjuster 4 to scale ingredients up or down. Quantities update instantly. Note that scaling only affects the ingredient list — any measurements mentioned inside the instructions won't change automatically, so keep an eye on those.
06Cook Mode
Tap the Cook Mode toggle on any recipe page to switch to a simplified cooking view. Cook Mode keeps your screen on so it won't go dark while you're hands-deep in dough, and hides editing controls so you can focus on the recipe.07Sharing Recipes
Every recipe has a button that copies a public link to your clipboard. Anyone with that link can view the recipe — no Noods account needed.
If the viewer has a Noods account, they'll see a "Save to cookbook" button to add the recipe to their own collection.
08Printing a Recipe
Open the recipe and tap the button in the toolbar. This opens your browser's print dialog with the recipe formatted cleanly for the page.
Account & Billing
Managing your login, subscription, and account settings.
09Sign-in Methods
Noods supports three ways to sign in: magic email links, passkeys, and social login (Google, X, or Microsoft). You can connect any combination of these from your account settings.
Magic links are the default — enter your email, click the link we send, done. Passkeys let you sign in with Face ID, fingerprint, or another device authenticator for the fastest experience.
10Changing Your Email
You can update your account email from your account settings. After entering a new address, we'll send confirmation links to both your old and new email — your email won't change until you confirm via both links.
11Plans & Pricing
Noods has two plans. Miso Soup is free forever and includes unlimited recipes, URL and photo import, and shareable recipe links. Ramen is $2.99/month and directly supports ongoing development — you'll also get first access to upcoming features like AI recipe creation.
You can upgrade or manage your subscription anytime from your account settings. Payments are handled securely through Stripe — we never see your card details.
12Cancelling Your Subscription
You can cancel your Ramen subscription at any time from your account settings. You'll keep access through the end of your current billing period, after which your account reverts to the free Miso Soup plan. All your recipes stay safe — nothing gets deleted.
13Deleting Your Account
You can permanently delete your account from your account settings. This removes all your data including recipes, cookbooks, and account information. This action is irreversible, so make sure to share any recipes you want to keep beforehand.
Troubleshooting
Something not working right? Check here for common fixes.
14Can't Log In
Make sure you're using the correct email. Magic links should arrive within a few seconds — check your spam or promotions folder if you don't see it in your inbox.
If you've tried a few times and still can't log in, email us at [email protected].
15Missing Recipes
If your account seems empty but you've saved recipes before, make sure you're logged into the same account you used previously. Double-check any alternate emails — you may have accidentally created multiple Noods accounts. Email us at [email protected] if you need a hand.
16Recipe Import Not Working
Some websites block automated access — particularly social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, etc.). Those won't work with URL import. For most dedicated recipe sites it should work fine.
If a URL import comes through blank or garbled, make sure the link points directly to a recipe page (not a category or search page) and try again. If a specific site consistently fails, let us know at [email protected] and we'll look into it.
17Account Linking Conflicts
This error happens when your Noods account with email [email protected] is trying to connect a social account (e.g. Google), but that social account is already linked to a different Noods account [email protected].
To resolve this:
- Log in to [email protected]
- Delete the unused account ([email protected]) from its account settings. This frees up the social account to be linked elsewhere.
- Log back into your [email protected] account and connect the social account again.
Optional: if you have recipes in this account worth keeping, transfer them first. See Transferring recipes between accounts.Optional: update your Noods account email to match your social account email for easier login in the future.18Transferring Recipes Between Accounts
You'll need to be logged into both accounts simultaneously. The easiest way is to use two different browsers (e.g. Chrome and Firefox) or an incognito/private window.
This process is a little tedious — apologies for the inconvenience while we work on making it smoother.
- In the first browser, log into your old account.
- In the second browser, log into your preferred/new account.
- In the first browser, open a recipe you want to move and click the button to copy a link.
- In the second browser, paste the link into the address bar to open the recipe, then click to save it to your preferred account.
- Repeat for each recipe you want to move.
