Privacy Policy
We collect as little as possible, never sell your data, and try to be upfront about everything.
Last updated: 13 April 2026Terms & Conditions
01The Basics
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what info we collect, why, and what we do with it. We've kept it straightforward — no legalese mazes. By using Noods.io, you agree to what's described here.
02What We Collect
Account info — Your email address and anything you choose to save, like recipes and cookbooks.
Usage data — Info about how people use the site (general location, device type, pages visited). While you have an account, this data is linked to it so we can understand how individual features are used and fix issues. We use PostHog for analytics.
Technical identifiers — A small cookie in your browser so we can recognize your account when you come back. It doesn't track you across other sites.
03How We Use It
We use your information to run the site — managing your account, delivering the features you use, and sending necessary emails like sign-in links and account updates. We also look at usage data to understand trends and make Noods better for everyone.
We don't use your data for advertising. Ever.
04Payments & Stripe
If you subscribe to the Ramen plan, your payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your card number or banking details. Stripe processes your payment info under their own privacy policy.
What we do store: your subscription status, billing period, and a Stripe customer ID so we can manage your plan.
05AI & Recipe Import
When you import a recipe from a URL, we use automated tools (including AI models) to extract and format the content. The URL you provide and the extracted recipe data are processed to deliver the feature — we don't use your imported recipes to train AI models or share them with third parties.
AI-extracted content may occasionally be inaccurate, so always review imported recipes before cooking.
06Photo Import & Uploaded Images
You can import recipes by uploading photos — handwritten cards, cookbook pages, screenshots, and so on. When you do, the images are uploaded to our servers and processed by an AI model to extract the recipe content. We don't use your photos to train AI models or share them with third parties.
Uploaded images are automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours, whether or not the import succeeds. Once the recipe has been extracted and saved, we have no further use for the original image.
08Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in, and PostHog sets a cookie to recognize returning visitors for analytics. No ad cookies, no cross-site tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser, but you'll need to sign in again each visit and analytics won't work.
09Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account anytime. When you do, your email, all your saved content (recipes, cookbooks) are permanently removed from our systems.
Here's how:
- Head to Account Controls on your Account page.
- Hit the Delete Account button.
- Check your email for a confirmation link and click it. Your account won't be deleted until you confirm.
Stuck? Email us at [email protected] and we'll sort it out.
10Emails from Us
You'll get transactional emails from us — sign-in links, account confirmations, and occasional important updates. These are necessary for the site to work, so they can't be opted out of individually. If you'd rather not receive any, you can delete your account.
11Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. That said, no online service is 100% bulletproof — we can't guarantee absolute security, but we do our best.
12Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If the changes are significant, we'll let you know via the site or email. The date at the top always reflects the latest version.
13Questions?
If anything here is unclear, or you want to know more about how we handle your data, drop us a line at [email protected]. We're happy to chat.
